Pastoral Vacancy Announcement:

The House of Hope Church is currently accepting applications to fill its senior pastor position at our local church, located in San Bernardino, California. We are small, close knit congregation with a long history of serving residents in the San Bernardino area as well as the wider Inland Empire area. We are looking for a new visionary pastoral leader who will continue to build upon our recent pastoral legacies by leading the church into the 21st century with a renewed focus on growing our church membership, developing and expanding ministry offerings, and engaging in community outreach initiatives.

Overview:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Senior Pastor will provide chief oversight, vision, administrative leadership and spiritual care of our community of faith. This key leader will be tasked with helping our church accomplish its mission of glorifying God by fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22: 36 – 40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18 – 20).

Responsibilities:

  • Preach and teach the word of God in faithful, creative, compelling and effective ways, and administer the sacraments of Baptism and Communion
  • Adequately shepherding the flock by providing pastoral care, counseling, dedications, visitations and fulfilling other requests as needed
  • Provide overarching ministry and administrative leadership, including but not limited to, budgeting, fundraising, ministry development, ministry expansion and day-to-day office operations
  • Effectively and efficiently plan impactful Sunday worship experiences along with other conferences, revivals, outreaches, and programs as directed by the Holy Spirit
  • Prayerfully casting the “vision for the house”

Qualifications: The right candidate will possess the following attributes and spiritual gifts:

  • Godly character as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
  • A vibrant prayer life
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of God’s Holy Word
  • Ability to develop a vision and strategic plan for church growth
  • Passionate about people, fellowship and community engagement
  • A minimum of 5 years pastoral experience preferred

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the Inland Empire area and an existing network of fellow ministers, colleagues, and potential members
  • Seminary training and/or Bible College education preferred

  3. Successfully complete background and references check
  4. Scheduled to preach before congregation after which a congregational vote will be taken and results determined
